Temperatures are starting to drop across the country and winter hair care is on the mind of many naturals. We have the answer for you, just lean in a little closer….
Cleanse. Condition. & Style.
#1: The only requirements are to cleanse, condition and style on a regular basis. That’s it? Yes, that’s it. Regardless of the season, the only required actions are to cleanse, condition and style every 5-10 days. Natural hair care doesn’t require you to stand on your head, boil onions, make volcanoes, whip up salad dressings and desserts, and generally use up all your organic groceries. Eat that $4 avocado.
#2: We usually recommend going through your full cleansing and conditioning routine at least every 5-10 days. Reality being as it is, your intervals may range from every two days to every three weeks. We really don’t advocate you go longer than 10-14 days, but we understand things happen. Because, #momlife.
#3 Oils and butters are not moisture or “go-to’s” for the winter. The word moist is an adjective meaning slightly wet, damp. Moisture is water or other liquid diffused in a small quantity as vapor, within a solid, or condensed on a surface. Key term is water. Applying oils and butter to dry hair just means you are lubricating dry hair. Contrary to popular belief, heavier products are not needed to survive the harsh cold temps in the winter season.
