Tight Curl Educators and Curl Artists
Meet Aeleise and Aishia
Who We Are
Black Girl Curls + Cut It Kinky
Aeleise is a veteran cosmetologist and long time curl nerd who is licensed in Illinois, Georgia, and California. While she understands ALL the curls in the imaginary curl alphabet, she's laser focused on the curls and culture of the tight curl consumer. You can find her editorial styling + curl education work featured in the creative campaigns for some of your favorite curly + natural hair brands.
Aishia is a beauty blogger turned licensed cosmetologist. Going natural in 2011 lead her to the same place it leads most naturals...the Internet. It was the quest for accurate information that eventually lead her to enrolling in Cosmetology school in the fall of 2015. Front loading her education with numerous curly hair classes and workshops has given her massive insight into the technical and mental aspects of curls. In her short 4 years as a stylist she has had a major impact on the way both professionals and clients both see tight curls.

What is the #30DayHairDetox?
In 2015, we challenged the natural community to give up their beloved shea butter, coconut oil, castor oil, Eco Styler, and products that include them in the top 5 ingredients. What sounded crazy at the time led to thousands of naturals around the world to fall in love with their hair, which formally became known as the #30DayHairDetox.
Contrary to popular belief, we don't hate oils and butters. There are some dope products that are impeccably formulated with these ingredients in them, even in the top 5 ingredients.
We ask you to eliminate them from your hair diet for 30 days because our minds and our hairs likely need a reset from some common natural hair bad practices that we've picked up on our journey.
That 30 days without oils and butters is the biggest shift in perspective and to see your curl shape. It's like taking care of plants and watching them grow and seeing a new leaf pop up. I'm so glad I found you in 2019. I was able to survive 2020 and really focus on my hair. I can't wait to find a stylist soon and get my hair shaped to see what it can do. Thank you for all that you have shared and taught us!
If you want to slay, you can not stray...#30DayHairDetox all the way! ❤️"
I was skeptical at first, but I did the #30DayHairDetox and my hair has gone from drab to fab. 😂 I'm learning how to style my hair, and I love that it feels softer. At the start of the journey in January, no matter what I did, my hair always felt like hay...which is not what I'm used to. But the result of keeping braids in too long etc. 3 months later and it's feeling like it used to but feels even better. So thankful I found your page. ❤️"
All I can say is as a person who was committed to Ayurvedic methods (oils, butters, clays and other DIY concoctions) for my hair all of 2020, then did the #30DayHairDetox starting 1/2/21, I am shooketh. To say I was skeptical about no oils is an understatement. I trusted the process outlined by Black Girl Curls and found my new favorite hair stylist Roni (@curl.jones). My hair is thriving. It's gone from a parched tumbleweed to more hydrated. 🙌🏽 Thanks ladies - my previously nowhere to be found curl pattern thanks you as well. 😍"
I signed up and I love the content so far. This is a game changer for my hair. I have seen an improvement in my hair from the #30DayHairDetox. Not only is my hair looking better, it's easier to style. Thank you ladies."
